GWTW Prompt

I have always loved to watch Gone with the Wind. I will never, and I mean never, get tired of watching Gone with the Wind. This is a movie that everyone should watch at least once in their life. In this blog, I will be talking about things that I find to be interesting, something I learned, and my favorite characters.

Something that I found to be interesting was the amount of detail that they added when it came to the costumes. I mean, when looking at the dresses, especially, they look amazing. My favorite dress that was worn was the white and green dress that Scarlett wore to go to her crush's house. The pattern, the fabric, and down to the littlest details are amazing.
The costumes are so amazingly made that you would not even think they were not from the 1930s, but from the Civil War era. The designer of the costumes is Walter Plunkett. I mean, he created with the help of his team over 5,000 costumes. If Walter Plunkett were still alive today, and I ever got to meet him, I would tell him how amazing a job he and his team did creating the costumes for Gone with the Wind.

Now I am going to be talking about something that I learned. One thing that I learned from watching the movie Gone with the Wind is that not all men wanted to go and fight in this war. I thought that during that time, men were much more likely to fight for our country and would want to enlist to fight right away. In reality, there were also men who did not agree with the war and did not want to, or simply did not enlist to fight in the war. Also, the movie shows how the slaves were treated back in the day and how different households treat African Americans.

I also learned something else. The second thing that I learned was that when it comes to marrying or dating, and you are stuck between two men to choose the second man over the first man. I say this because in the movie, you see how Scarlett is in love with Ashly, but as the movie progresses, you see how she slowly, over time, starts to fall for Rhett Butler. This goes to show how you should go with the second choice, because if you loved the first man so much, then why did you feel the connection to the second man?

Lastly, I want to talk about my two favorite characters, and they are Scarlett and Rhett. What I love about Scarlett is how smart and kind she is. She will put others in front of her own needs when it is about someone she cares about, and she also knows that she is pretty and so she uses her charm to her advantage. What I love about Rhett is his determination and love when it came to Scarlett, and how he would drop anything for her. What I love about them both is their connection and how they both grow with each other.
